L’autunno, si sa, è da sempre la stagione più affascinante e malinconica allo stesso tempo.
Dovunque viene rappresentato con colori forti che ammaliano e con un senso di decadenza dato da quella pratica chiamata foliage, durante la quale le foglie si staccano dagli alberi e danno il benvenuto al freddo inverno che di lì a poco coprirà tutto con la sua bianca neve. Ebbene, se siete amanti di questa lenta atmosfera frizzantina e avete voglia di assistere al più grande spettacolo autunnale presente sulla terra, non dovete far altro che visitare il famosissimo Shenandoah National Park.
Uno dei più famosi parchi del nord America, il Shenandoah National Park, è conosciuto per il foliage e per i colori autunnali che riempiono intere vallate di questo splendido parco nell’Est degli Stati Uniti.
Qui, in Virginia, sta per verificarsi quello che gli esperti chiamano il picco: la colorazione tipica autunnale, raggiunge il suo apice, con la maggior parte delle foglie ancora attaccate ai rami anche se quasi completamente rosse.
Negli States esistono viaggi organizzati dedicati al tema del foliage e il Shenandoah National Park è la meta preferita; per arrivarci bisogna passare per una rinomata strada panoramica chiamata Blue Ridge Parkway, che collega il parco al Great Smoky Mountain National Park distante circa 700 Km.

Here in Virginia, what experts call the peak is going to happen: the typical autumn color, reaches its peak, with most leaves still attached to the branches even though almost completely red.
In the States there are organized trips dedicated to the theme of foliage and the Shenandoah National Park is the preferred destination; to get there we have to go for a renowned panoramic road called Blue Ridge Parkway, which connects the park to Great Smoky Mountain National Park, about 700km away.
