Il filo infinito della sartoria

La sartoria è un’arte fatta di sapienza e di grazia, armonia e squisitezza. Distinzione e imperfezione che sfuggono da un mondo troppo uguale.

C’era una volta, e c’è ancora, la sartoria. Uno spazio quasi sacro, dove il tempo scorre quieto e silente. Qui la passione prende la forma di un abito su misura, capace di emozionare e suscitare piacevoli sensazioni. Ogni abito è creato e pensato esclusivamente per sé, unico e inimitabile.

Circa 30.000 punti e gesti amorevoli, che il sarto esegue con desiderio e passione. Lo sguardo è concentrato su ciò che si sta creando, la mano incessante compone i pezzi di stoffa in perfetta armonia. Tra aghi, spilli infilati ovunque e il brusio del ferro a vapore, come un’artista, entra in sintonia con il tessuto e lo stile del suo cliente, plasmandolo al suo corpo come seconda pelle. Da una vastissima scelta di tessuti preziosi e nuance prendono vita opere d’arte, che esaltano l’estetica del vestito e la personalità dell’ homme élégant.

Due grandi scuole e filosofie sartoriali dettano da secoli i canoni dell’abbigliamento maschile classico.

La scuola inglese, da sempre espressione dello stile e dell’eleganza assoluta, vanta di una storia lunga come una passione. A Savile Row, tempio del bespoke inglese, i sarti dell’ago e filo creano vestiti su misura in perfetto aplomb. La parola d’ordine è compostezza, affermare attraverso l’abito quel senso di superiorità e di nobiltà tipica del gentleman inglese. Uno stile tipicamente formale e rigoroso.

La scuola italiana, tradizionalmente è quella napoletana che, successivamente,  si è estesa anche a Milano e Roma. Uno stile unico e inconfondibile. I punti dei loro aghi hanno realizzato, e realizzano ancora oggi, abiti  per personaggi illustri di tutte le provenienze: attori celebri, uomini di cultura, poeti e aristocratici.

Napoli è un modo di essere, di vivere le ore del giorno e di interpretare l’abbigliamento maschile. All’ombra del Vesuvio si dettavano le leggi del saper vestire e ancora oggi è sovrana di stile, riconosciuta in tutto il mondo. Non c’era scantinato in cui non ci fosse un sarto, un esperto occhiellatore, un pantalonaio; il cosiddetto “O’ Mast”.

La sartoria napoletana crea un’eleganza morbida e piacevole, disinvolta anche nei suoi, per alcuni considerati tali, difetti. Certe pieguzze rappresentano vita, in cui la parola d’ordine è scioltezza.

Precursore indiscutibile di questo stile partenopeo è la Sartoria Rubinacci. Marchio storico dell’abito su misura maschile, che da tre generazioni impone gli stilemi del taglio sartoriale tipicamente napoletano. Un’arte sartoriale capace di rendere vivi gli abiti e rappresentare l’intima essenza di colui che lo indossa.

Tutto è nato nel cuore di Napoli, nella London House di via Chiaia, dove un uomo d’arte ed esteta, Gennaro Rubinacci, ha riunito le maestrie sartoriali della città. Iniziò così una lunga tradizione, che s’impose grazie all’innovativa creatività di Vincenzo Attolini. Dallo studio armonioso delle forme, quest’abile sarto, ha “destrutturato” l’ingessata giacca inglese, dando vita a quel capospalla divenuto emblema dell’eleganza partenopea, la giacca napoletana. Una giacca poetica che segue i movimenti del corpo e si libera di ogni superfluo, sfoderata e con la spalla priva d’imbottitura. La manica importante, cucita a camicia, crea delle piccole pieghette verticali a formare la manica a mappina. Uno stile sartoriale che ha affascinato e conquistato il mondo con la sua classe e unicità artigianale.

Un concetto di vestire su misura che continua oggi a espandersi e affermarsi grazie all’abilità del maestro di stile Mariano Rubinacci e alla capacità del figlio, Luca Rubinacci, di reinventare con originalità i canoni classici del menswear. Successo che deriva dalla combinazione di una tradizione artigianale volta all’eccellenza e la cura minuziosa dei dettagli, come dimostrano le preziose cuciture interne delle giacche cucite interamente a mano. Un processo di lavorazione manuale impareggiabile, tipico della sartoria Rubinacci.

Una vestibilità soft e leggera, che si differenzia da quella del Nord, dove lo stile di vita, dinamico e improntato al rigore, rispecchia uno stile sartoriale sobrio e autorevole.

Stile inconfondibile che, da quattro generazioni, nella sartoria Caraceni è una tradizione rimasta immutata. Una lavorazione all’insegna del concetto di bottega sartoriale, molto caro al fondatore Domenico Caraceni. Cultore dell’artigianalità italiana e fondatore di un patrimonio sartoriale esclusivo, elemento distintivo di questa antica sartoria. Una passione di famiglia che negli anni ha mantenuto intatta l’anima e l’abilità del grande sarto. In particolare nella sartoria di Augusto Caraceni a Milano e in quella di Tommy e Giulio a Roma. Giacche dal taglio ben strutturato, meno rigide delle impettite giacche di Sua Maestà, che calzano perfettamente a pennello. La qualità della manifattura interamente a mano e la ricercatezza dei materiali rendono ogni abito Caraceni unico.

Dopo un’apparente fase in cui sembrava che quest’arte fosse destinata a rimanere confinata nelle menti di una vecchia generazione, si sta assistendo a una progressiva riscoperta delle maestrie sartoriali. Giovani sarti che si avvicinano ed esplorano il mondo del”su misura”, all’insegna dell’innovazione e affermazione di questi antichi segreti artigianali. Una nuova tipologia di sarto, che spesso è anche un imprenditore. Esce dalla sua bottega e si rapporta al mondo, allargando il suo raggio d’azione. Nonostante l’incessante evoluzione della tecnologia e della società, sempre più incline al consumismo e all’usa e getta, le attitudini e raffinatezze del sarto su misura non cederanno mai alle lusinghe del made in fabbrica. Resterà sempre un privilegio e piacere d’élite.

Un uomo di pregio, che in se racchiude l’essenza del saper vestire.

Two great schools and sartorial philosophies dictate from centuries the standards of classic men’s wear.

The English school, has always been an expression of style and absolute elegance, boasts a long history as a passion.
