Nata nel cuore della Puglia nel dicembre del 2013 da un gruppo di tre ragazzi non ancora trentenni, Nextome è diventata una delle reali eccellenze italiane delle quali non si parla abbastanza, se non in occasioni strettamente settoriali.
La navigazione indoor offerta da Nextome permette di farsi guidare dallo smartphone in luoghi chiusi, bypassando, di conseguenza, il limite imposto dal servizio GPS che ci viene in aiuto solo in spazi aperti; il tutto con un margine di errore pari ad un metro.
Nextome sfrutta inoltre un algoritmo intelligente per il riconoscimento del passo, denominato IntelliWalk, capace di comprendere quando e dove l’utente decide di spostarsi, la dimensione del passo, l’orientamento e la modalità di movimento dell’utente mentre cammina, usando componenti già presenti all’interno dello smartphone, come l’accelerometro, i magnetometri, il giroscopio e la bussola.
La tecnologia Nextome e gli algoritmi di localizzazione vengono eseguiti all’interno dello smartphone senza andare in connessione continua al server. Questo fa si che non sia necessaria una rete Internet attiva, rendendo così possibile la navigazione interna anche in quegli edifici non coperti da connessione. Con questo servizio, dunque, l’utente annulla completamente il senso di smarrimento che si prova quando si entra per la prima volta in un grande spazio chiuso.

The indoor navigation offered by Nextome allows you to be be driven by the smartphone in closed places by bypassing, therefore, the limit imposed by the GPS service that only helps us in open spaces; all with a margin of error of one meter.
Nextome also uses a smart passphrase algorithm called IntelliWalk, capable of understanding when and where the user decides to move, step size, orientation, and user movement while walking, using components already inside the smartphone, such as the accelerometer, the magnetometers, the gyroscope, and the compass.
Nextome technology and localization algorithms run inside the smartphone without going into a continuous connection to the server. This means that an active Internet network is not required, thus making it possible to also navigate in those non-connected buildings. With this service, therefore, the user completely eliminates the sense of loss that is felt when entering for the first time in a large enclosed space.
