C’è l’automobile vista come mezzo di trasporto, e c’è l’automobile vista come icona. Dall’inizio del secolo scorso pochi esemplari si sono guadagnati tale merito, diventando simbolo di movimenti e stili di vita. È proprio in omaggio a due icone a quattro ruote che Eleganza del Gusto, dopo il suo sviluppo in Italia, approda oltralpe a Francoforte sul Meno, in occasione di High Five – Bespoke Masterpieces Made For Jaguar Land Rover, un evento organizzato in collaborazione con Walden e Space.
Se è vero che i produttori di auto europei rappresentano da sempre l’avanguardia nell’ambito di lusso e ricercatezza su ruote, è altrettanto vero come la migliore tradizione artigianale dei motori sia ancora oggi portata avanti dalla Gran Bretagna.
Nella cornice di High Five, il 12 ed il 13 Novembre 2021 presso Walden, a Francoforte, verranno presentati al pubblico cinque prodotti dedicati esclusivamente al mondo Jaguar Land Rover. Durante l’evento sarà possibile visionarli, ordinarli ma soprattutto incontrare gli artigiani che li hanno ideati e prodotti, per scoprirne i segreti e la genesi.
Sebbene le intere gamme di Jaguar e Land Rover siano meritevoli di essere omaggiate, sono due specifici modelli i protagonisti di questa collezione bespoke in anteprima a Francoforte.
Prodotta fino al 1975, l’iconica coupé Jaguar E-Type compie 60 anni proprio nel 2021: sin dal suo debutto al Salone di Ginevra nel Marzo 1961 è stato subito chiaro come la E-Type fosse destinata a diventare simbolo di eleganza, linee sinuose e potenza britannica.
Oltre 70 anni fa, nel 1948, veniva invece presentato il Land Rover Defender: un fuoristrada senza tempo che ha fatto scuola nelle esplorazioni e battute di caccia di tutto il mondo, uscendo di scena nella sua variante tradizionale solo nel 2016.
Così cinque artigiani hanno dedicato cinque diversi prodotti ed accessori moda agli appassionati e proprietari di Jaguar E-Type e Land Rover Defender.
Leonard Kahlcke
Leonard Kahlcke, dell’omonimo atelier, dedica al pilota Peter Lindner ed al 60° anniversario della E-Type le loafer bespoke in colorazione Sherwood Green: una tonalità unica creata specificamente all’epoca dal German Leather Institute solo per questo modello, a bordo di cui il pilota perse la vita nel 1964 durante la 1000 KM di Parigi. Un colore più elegante e meno aggressivo del tipico Verde British, ma non per questo meno inglese, prodotto in pelle di pecari in sole sei paia.
Evelyn Toomistu Design
Lo stesso Sherwood Green lo si ritrova nei guanti da guida disegnati da Evelyn Toomistu Design: cuciti a mano in pelle di pecari, traforati con il cuoio a contrasto sul verde e le cuciture bianche a vista, più che un omaggio sembrano dei guanti originali, limitati a sole sei paia, conservati direttamente dagli anni ’60.
Diehm Bespoke
Auto come la E-Type sono fatte per essere guidate: perfette per la Costa Azzurra come per una giornata in pista a Goodwood, ed ovviamente ideali per occasioni mondane come una cena di gala. È bene quindi non farsi trovare impreparati grazie alla giacca da guida su misura in tweed prodotta da Detlev Diehm, Diehm Bespoke, seguendo le più alte e rigide regole dell’arte sartoriale: dopo le 80 ore di lavoro per produrla, garantisce la funzionalità necessaria per un pilota, unita alla classe dovuta nelle grandi occasioni.
Kreis Ledermanufaktur
A Francoforte protagonista, però, non è unicamente la guida sportiva: spazio anche a quella lenta di chi si avventura sui percorsi più impervi, tra rocce e fiumi da guadare a bordo del proprio classico Defender.
Un’auto così inarrestabile merita una combinazione con una borsa Weekender altrettanto resistente nel tempo, limitata a soli sette pezzi: Bernd Kreis, Kreis Ledermanufaktur, mostra l’esperienza maturata dall’azienda sin dal 1963 nelle produzioni in pelle per borse, cinture ed altri accessori fatti a mano. Questa borsa da viaggio, unita a dettagli speciali come il multitool con la silhouette del Defender, è una particolarità da veri fuoristradisti.
Broska Feine Accessoires
A difesa del buon gusto, infine, è la pochette fatta a mano in seta vintage dedicata al Defender prodotta da Jorg Broska, Broska Feine Accessoires: la cucitura in verde dell’iconico Land Rover fa capire da subito quale automobilista la stia indossando, magari spiccando dal taschino di una giacca da guida su misura.
Questa esclusiva collezione dedicata a Jaguar Land Rover potrà essere visionata a Francoforte sul Meno, nella sede Walden in Kleiner Hirschgraben, 7: il 12 Novembre 2021 sarà possibile partecipare al vernissage, magari gustando un cocktail con altri appassionati ed esperti dei due brand britannici, dalle ore 18 alle ore 20.30; l’esibizione della collezione avrà invece luogo il 13 Novembre, dalle ore 10 alle ore 17.
I visitatori verranno anche accolti da Alexander Luzius Ziermann con la sua E-Type personalizzata, da lui battezzata ET: la coupé britannica è stata verniciata a mano dall’artista tedesco in un mix di colori e 2506 diverse forme circolari.
A rendere imperdibile High Five sarà non solo la possibilità di ammirare quest’opera d’arte e gli esclusivi accessori dedicati a Jaguar Land Rover, ma anche e soprattutto la presenza degli artigiani dietro gli stessi: un autentico incontro tra l’artista ed il cliente, un momento di confronto e di formazione più unico che raro, per condividere idee e concetti sul mondo della moda e dell’automobile premium.

There is the car seen as a means of transport, and there is the car seen as an icon. Since the beginning of the last century, few specimens have earned this merit, becoming a symbol of movements and lifestyles.
It is precisely in homage to two icons on four wheels that Eleganza del Gusto, after its development in Italy, arrives across the Alps in Frankfurt am Main, on the occasion of High Five – Bespoke Masterpieces Made For Jaguar Land Rover, an event organized in collaboration with Walden and Space.
If it is true that European car manufacturers have always represented the avant-garde in the field of luxury and refinement on wheels, it is equally true that the best automotive craftsmanship tradition is still carried on today by Great Britain.
In the frame of High Five, on 12th and 13th November 2021 at Walden, Frankfurt, five products dedicated exclusively to the world of Jaguar Land Rover will be presented to the public.
During the event it will be possible to view them, order them but above all meet the craftsmen who designed and produced them, to discover their secrets and genesis.
Although the entire ranges of Jaguar and Land Rover deserve to be honored, two specific models are the protagonists of this bespoke collection premiered in Frankfurt.
Produced until 1975, the iconic Jaguar E-Type coupe turns 60 in 2021: since its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961 it was immediately clear how the E-Type was destined to become a symbol of elegance, sinuous lines and British power.
More than 70 years ago, in 1948, the Land Rover Defender was presented: a timeless off-road vehicle that has led the way in explorations and hunting trips around the world, leaving the scene in its traditional variant only in 2016.
So five artisans have dedicated five different products and fashion accessories to Jaguar E-Type and Land Rover Defender enthusiasts and owners.
Leonard Kahlcke
Leonard Kahlcke, from the homonymous atelier, dedicates bespoke loafers in Sherwood Green color, to the pilot Peter Lindner and to the 60th anniversary of the E-Type: a unique shade created back then by the German Leather Institute for this model, on board of which the pilot lost his life in 1964 during the 1000 KM of Paris. A more elegant and less aggressive color than the typical British Green, but no less English, made in hand-dyed peccary leather.
Evelyn Toomistu Design
Sherwood Green itself can be found in the custom driver gloves designed by Evelyn Toomistu Design: hand-stitched in peccary leather, perforated with contrasting green leather and visible white stitching, they look more like original gloves, limited to just six pairs, preserved directly from the 1960s than a tribute.
Diehm Bespoke
Cars like the E-Type are made to be driven: perfect for the French Riviera as well as for a trackday in Goodwood, and obviously ideal for social occasions such as a gala dinner. It is therefore good not to be caught unprepared thanks to the bespoke drivers-jacket in English tweed, produced by Detlev Diehm, Diehm Bespoke following the highest rules of tailor art: after the 80 hours of work to make it, it guarantees the functionality necessary for a driver, combined with the class due on big occasions.
Kreis Ledermanufaktur
In Frankfurt, however, the protagonist is not only sports driving: space also for the slow one of those who venture on the most inaccessible routes, between rocks and rivers to be waded aboard their classic Defenders.
Broska Feine Accessoires
Such an unstoppable car deserves a combination with an equally durable Weekender bag, limited to only seven pieces: Bernd Kreis, Kreis Ledermanufaktur, shows the experience achieved since 1963 in handmade leather bags, belts and other accessories. This travel bag, combined with details such as the multitool with the silhouette of the Defender, is a special treat for true off-roaders.
In defense of good style, finally, is the vintage silk, handmade pocket square dedicated to the Defender produced by Jorg Broska, Broska Feine Accessoires: the green stitching of the iconic Land Rover immediately makes it clear which motorist is wearing it, perhaps standing out from the pocket of a bespoke drivers-jacket.
This exclusive collection dedicated to Jaguar Land Rover can be viewed in Frankfurt am Main, at the Walden headquarters in Kleiner Hirschgraben, 7: on November 12th, 2021 it will be possible to participate in the vernissage, perhaps enjoying a cocktail with other enthusiasts and experts of the two British brands, from 6 pm to 8.30 pm; the exhibition of the collection will instead take place on November 13th, from 10am to 5pm.
Visitors will also be welcomed by Alexander Luzius Ziermann with his customized E-Type, which he named ET: the British coupe was painted by hand by German artist in a mix of colors and 2506 different circular shapes.
To make High Five unmissable will not only be the possibility to admire this work of art and the exclusive accessories dedicated to Jaguar Land Rover, but also and above all the presence of the craftsmen behind them: an authentic encounter between the artist and the customer, a more unique than rare opportunity for discussion and training, to share ideas and concepts on the world of fashion and premium cars.
